Imagine finding out that your business has be given the seal of approval by Queen B herself. Well, 16-year-old, Tyla-Simone Crayton, CEO of Sienna Sauce, doesn’t have to imagine because the nod from Beyonce is her reality.
The Houston-native found out in June that her company was featured on Beyonce.com under the “Black Parade Route,” the curated directory of Black-owned businesses. When asked by Rollingout.com, how she felt about being featured on the website, the teen credited her mother saying, “I have to give that credit to my mom. She works so hard all of the time to keep me relevant. With me doing these interviews, connecting with my people and my community during this quarantine, I guess the right person saw me at the right time.”
Crayton is no stranger to having the right people see her at the right time. The budding businesswoman has amassed a lot of positive professional attention that has helped her to take her business to the next level. In 2018 and 2019, she won “Best Sauce,” beating out several other brands in the Sauce-A-Holic Fest in Katy, TX. She won $25,000 on the ABC show, Strahan, Sara, and Keke, as a part of the Side Hustle Showdown, in addition to $10,000 in the Revolt Pitch Competition. Yet, the financial accolades don’t stop there. In May of this year, Sienna Sauce won another $10,000 in the Accelerator’s Pitch Competition, hosted in partnership with Essence Magazine.
The talented teen sat down with Rollingout.com to talk about what are her keys to success. Check out the interview here and make sure to place your order of this amazing product.
