Pregnant Teyana Taylor is planning to make quite the political statement at her baby shower. The ‘We Got Love’ artist shared an Instagram post this past weekend that gave her fans insight into how she feels about the civil unrest tied to racism in America.
Teyana uploaded a candid of herself while wearing an outfit that paid homage to the Black Panthers. The recording artist also held a gun in her hand while taking the picture.
“How I’m pullin (sic) up to my baby shower knowing that I will soon bring another black child into this world,” Taylor told her fans. “With heavy thoughts on my mind that #breonnataylor murderers still hasn’t (sic) been arrested,” the recording artist said as an explanation for her candid.
“Still no justice for the countless black lives lost,” Teyana Taylor continued. “So if it ain’t gone be no justice it ain’t no f*cking peace,” the celebrity declared.
“If violence is wrong in America, violence is wrong abroad. If it is wrong to be violent defending black women and black children and black babies and black men, then it is wrong for America to draft us and make us violent abroad in defense of her. And if it is right for America to draft us, and teach us how to be violent in defense of her, then it is right for you and me to do whatever is necessary to defend our own people right here in this country.”
Teyana Taylor and her husband, Iman Shumpert Sr., are expecting their second child to arrive in the coming months. The little one will join the couple’s daughter, Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr., at home. Stay tuned for more celebrity family news!
