On Mother’s Day (May 10), Diplo revealed that he fathered a baby with model and former Miss Universe contestant Jevon King. Unfortunately, Diplo has not had the chance to meet his son yet thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.
Jevon King announced the March 20 birth of her son Pace on Instagram, but the fact that Diplo was the father remained a secret, until Mother’s Day that is. In a heartfelt Instagram post, the DJ celebrated Mother’s Day by paying tribute to his mother Barbara Jean, his ex-girlfriend Kathryn Lockhart, the mother of his sons; 10-year-old Lockett and 6-year-old Lazer, and of course Jevon, the mother to their newborn son Pace. Diplo’s post contained three pictures: one of him and his mother, one of Kathryn and their two sons, and one of Jevon cradling Pace.
In the caption, Diplo wrote: “Thanks for giving me life and helping me create it – the three strongest mothers in the world… I’m still a work in progress but u have given three perfect beautiful boys 🤍 I love you all til the moon and back.”
Diplo did not reveal many details in the post, but on the following day (May 11), he elaborated on his son Pace in another Instagram post. Diplo explained that due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, he has been unable to meet his son, but promised to meet Pace and Jevon once the travel restrictions are lifted.
“So, I had an entire ass baby during quarantine. I was hesitant to post him because not only does he already have a better haircut than me… But also because I haven’t met him yet since we are separated by a million miles and closed borders,” said Diplo. “His name is Pace, he and his mommy are super healthy and happy and I’m going to meet them as soon as we turn a corner on this world shutdown.”
