Parenting during the pandemic has been nothing less than life-altering. Many parents have had to find a way to balance between becoming a full-time educator in addition to maintaining their full-time work schedule. Angela and Vanessa Simmons, in a recent interview with People Magazine gave parents nationwide some sage advice: “take it one day at a time.” The magazine had the opportunity to speak to the superstar sisters about season five of their WE TV series, Growing Up Hit-Hop and they shared what their new daily routines look like while at home with their kids.
Thirty-six-year-old Vanessa is mother to six-year-old Ava Marie Jean, while 32-year-old Angela is mother to three-year-old Sutton Joseph.
Vanessa told the magazine that they are doing, “Lots of activities, lots of reading. [Ava]’s 6 right now and she’s just starting to be able to recognize words. A lot of baking and and cooking with me. She does her P.E. class, so that keeps her pretty energized and active during this time. It’s a new day every day and we take it one day at a time and keep the happy vibes flowing in my house.”

Even though the Simmons sisters have already wrapped their recent season of their hit television show, and are currently quarantined on opposite sides of the country, they still find time to have playdates for the cousins, in addition to including their brother Jojo Simmons and his four-year-old daughter, Mia. So just what do the Simmons cousins do on their FaceTime playdates? Well, according to Vanessa, “They did coloring the other day till my phone died.”
