Pregnancy looks different during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ciara took to Instagram on Wednesday to give a snippet of what pregnant women endure when going for routine check-ups now that hospitals are enforcing strict regulations that prohibit visitors.
Ciara’s ultrasound appointment did not include her husband, Russell Wilson, by her side because of the hospital’s rule that only allows patients inside of the building. Russell Facetimed his wife from the car and saw an image of the ultrasound. Ciara, of course, wore a mask and gloves for the duration of the appointment.
“The life of a pregnant woman in COVID-19 Era is very interesting,” Ciara told her Instagram fans after her doctor’s appointment. “Russ had to FaceTime me from the car for our Ultrasound,” the ‘Level Up’ singer wrote online. “We don’t hear too much about US (pregnant women) during this time,’ the celebrity mom admitted.
Ciara is certainly not alone in her concerns about pregnancy during the coronavirus pandemic. LeToya Luckett told her friend that she “had to do the same thing” when going for a check-up for her and husband Tommicus Walker’s unborn child. Other Instagram subscribers who were also pregnant shared their stories as well.
“Just had my baby on Monday,” one social media follower said. “Having to labor and deliver a baby while wearing a mask was unreal. Now he’s in NICU and we can’t visit him at the same time.” Another of Ciara’s Instagram fans wrote, “Such a sad and scary time to be pregnant. I’m so nervous to deliver my baby girl in a few weeks.”
Ciara and Russell Wilson announced their expectancy of a child in January. The couple is expecting their son to arrive in the coming weeks. The little one will join Ciara and Russell’s daughter, Sienna, and Ciara’s son, Future Zahir, at home. Stay tuned for more celebrity pregnancy news!
