Sean “Diddy” Combs and his kids hosted a dance-a-thon fundraiser on Easter Sunday to raise money to benefit health care workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
Ahead of the fundraiser, Diddy posted an invite to the Instagram live event with all of his children inspired by the hit 1970’s sitcom The Brady Bunch. “Tomorrow we will all dance together for our healthcare workers! Let’s spread some positive vibes and let them know how much we appreciate them!,” Combs captioned. “Tomorrow at 3PM EST on my Instagram Live Team Love Dance-A-Thon. THE WHOLE WORLD IS INVITED!!!!!!”
Combs and his non-profit organization, Team Love, partnered with Direct Relief, “a nonprofit humanitarian aid organization that rushes critical medicines and requested supplies to communities affected by poverty or emergencies throughout the world,” according to its site.
Diddy, who has legally changed his middle name to “Love”, managed to raise more than $3 million with the help of his family, fans, and some famous faces.
“All donations will support Direct Relief’s emergency response to COVID-19. Direct Relief supports healthcare organizations and professionals who care for medically underserved communities. Team Love also cares for these communities, which are often Black & Brown and disproportionately affected by emergencies like this pandemic,” a message on Team Love’s site reads.
Some of the celebrities who took part in the dance-a-thon included Zaza, LeBron James, Jennifer Lopez, Megan Thee Stallion Drake, Justin Bieber and many more.
