Congratulations are in order for Nia Sioux as the Dance Moms alum has now added author to her resume!
Sioux’s book entitled, Today I Dance, has been a special project to her for over 15 months and it is finally complete and ready to share.
“I WROTE A BOOK!!!! I’m so excited to share Today I Dance, a picture book I have been working on for over 15 months. It is such a special project to me, so I hope you enjoy,” Nia wrote in her Instagram caption.
Today I Dance follows the story of Nia’s first experience taking a dance class. In addition to her new author status, the talented 18-year-old has been busy establishing herself in front of the camera as an actress and much more. She landed a role in 2018 on the CBS soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, as a fashion intern named Emma Barber. Also in late 2018, to complement her on-camera work, Sioux also landed opportunities in the wonderful world of theater as she snagged the lead role in the North Carolina Theater’s production of Aladdin and His Winter Wish.
In a past interview with Dance Spirit, Sioux said, “There are definitely differences between competition dancing and Broadway dancing. Although competition dancing certainly helped me in refining my technique, performing in a Broadway show required me to concentrate on more than just choreography,” adding that, “learning a new dance routine on Dance Moms each week was great training for theatre experience.”
However, she didn’t stop there. In 2019, Sioux was also was seen in the Brat TV’s Sunnyside Up, among others.
Sioux is definitely proving that she is a jack of all trades. And, we are definitely here for it. Mark your calendars for June 26th as Today I Dance will hit the shelves, but you can pre-order now. We cannot wait to see what is next for Sioux. The sky is the limit!
