Social media challenges are all over the internet. From Celebrities to every-day people, everyone is trying to make sure that people listen up, #stayhome, and find a way to cure a few moments of boredom. These challenges are definitely all the rave right now with quarantine orders still in effect for many.
Some of BCK‘s favorite faces have put their own spin on the #DontRushChallenge to encourage fans to social distance and more. The results were epic! Check out Marsai Martin, Skai Jackson, Storm Reid and others as they “pass the torch” to make sure that you remember to #stayhome to help flatten the curve and have fun while you are doing it.
So where did the #DontRushChallenge actually come from? Well, on March 22nd, 20-year-old Toluwalase Asolo tweeted a clip with the caption, “The boredom jumped out,” of she and her seven girlfriends changing looks while passing around a makeup brush as a baton. The 26-minute video has gone on to capture millions of views.

“We understand that in a period like this with nothing to do, a lot of people may slip into depression due to high levels of inactivity and idleness,” Toluwalase told Teen Vogue in an interview. “So we decided to highlight the togetherness in isolation.”
According to Asolo, the original intention of the challenge was to empower and encourage women to embrace beauty without makeup, while incorporating fashion.
“In all honesty, we did not anticipate this blowing up on the internet,” Toluwalase says. “We were taken by surprise, but [we were] also overwhelmed with gratitude at how well it has been embraced by people worldwide. We started a movement and we’re extremely proud of ourselves and honored that our idea has been recognized on a global scale.”
Have you tried the #DontRushChallenge? It is definitely a way to have fun with your girls while making a statement!
