Since many barbershops and hair salons are closed due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, hair care has been a bit more difficult lately for many people. It is why LeBron “Bronny” James Jr. (son of three-time NBA champion LeBron James) has been growing his hair out; but contrary to popular belief, Bronny does not have a new haircut. What Bronny does have is a new hairstyle after getting his hair trimmed and twisted by his mother, Savannah James.
In a recent video LeBron James shared on his Instagram story , Bronny is shown sitting in a barber chair in their home running his hands through his thick hair. LeBron can be heard laughing and teasing Bronny’s hair, saying: “You look like a 1950’s R&B singer” and “you got so much damn hair boy.”
On March 11, the NBA season was suspended indefinitely after Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert had tested positive for coronavirus. A few other players, such as Gobert’s teammate Donovan Mitchell, Marcus Smart of the Boston Celtics, and two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets have also tested positive for coronavirus. In the days and weeks following the NBA’s suspension, many other sports leagues and organizations have suspended their respective seasons and either postponed or cancelled many of their upcoming events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bronny was set to compete in a California State Championship title game with his team, Sierra Canyon High School, but it was also canceled because of the pandemic.
LeBron James’ team, the Los Angeles Lakers, have taken coronavirus tests and two players tested positive. Since then, the Lakers players and staff members have imposed self-quarantines. If LeBron laughing at his son’s hair didn’t make it obvious, the James family are clearly making the most of their time in quarantine.
