Prince Harry moved away from friends during Meghan Markle’s pregnancy. An inside source tells PEOPLE exclusively that the Duke of Sussex cut off ties from some of his longtime pals when Meghan was in her second trimester of expectancy.
“Most no longer even have his cell number,” the family friend reveals. The insider goes on to say, “They totally understand that men often drift from their friends after marriage, but there’s still a lot of resentment because they had been so close for so long.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their plans to back away from Royal duties earlier this month. The Royal couple shared the news in an Instagram post that quickly went viral.
“We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honor our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages,” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in their post. “This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.”
Meghan Markle has reportedly resided in Canada with her and Prince Harry’s son, Archie, since the Duke and Duchess shared plans to pursue more independence from the Royal Crown. Prince Harry reportedly returned to England to further discuss his and Meghan’s decision with his family.
