Mariah Carey celebrated Thanksgiving with her ex-husband Nick Cannon, their 8-year-old kids, Moroccan and Monroe, and Carey’s boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka.
The singer took to Instagram on Thursday to share a series of photos from the holiday with the caption, “Happy Thanksgiving! Thankful for all the blessings in my life.”
Recently, Carey was awarded a Guinness World Record by the official Guinness adjudicator Michael Empric, for “Highest-charting holiday (Christmas/New Year) song on the US Hot 100 by a solo artist” for “All I Want for Christmas is You.” And of course her favorite fans, daughter Monroe Cannon and son Moroccan Scott Cannon, were on hand to help there mother celebrate her honor. Carey was presented her Guinness World Record during her “All I want For Christmas Is You” show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Mariah Carey into the Guinness World Records family through her incredible achievements for her hit single,” said Guinness World Records adjudicator Michael Empric in a statement. “This song has become a holiday staple, and it is very fitting to recognize this iconic tune in the 2020 book on its 25th anniversary celebration.”
Carey’s popular holiday song first debuted in October 1994 as a part of her Christmas album, Merry Christmas. Since then, the anthem has become one of the most recognized Christmas songs all around the world.
The holiday-themed single continues to break even more Guinness World Records as it has become the most streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours (female) (10,819,009 streams in December 2018) and most weeks in the UK singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song (20) titles.
To add icing on the cake, this special honor is bestowed upon the singer on the 25th anniversary of the song’s initial release.
