Gabrielle Union is the voice and brains behind her daughter’s #ShadyBaby Instagram account. Dwyane Wade tells PEOPLE that his wife restricted his right to post on Kaavia James’ page.
“I did one caption and my wife was like, ‘Never again. Don’t ever touch it again,'” Wade muses. The celebrity father admits that his baby girl has his “wife’s personality with my facial expressions.”
To date, Shady Baby has more than 900,000 followers. In fact, Kaavia’s fame on Instagram just may reach one million by the end of this year because of the hilarity that Gabrielle Union brings to the page.
“It’s hilarious,” Dwyane says of his wife’s creativity when coming up with captions to match their daughter’s facial expressions. “She’ll send me some of [the captions] before she puts them on and I’ll be dying laughing because it’s so on point, you know? So it’s cool.”
Kaavia James celebrates her first birthday next month. This Christmas will be the first in which the little one can participate and settle into her parents’ philosophy of the holiday season, which does not include Santa Claus.
“I had to work for everything that I’ve gotten and my family’s gotten,” Dwyane Wade said during a previous interview in which he defended his wife’s public statement about their decision to refrain from bolstering the myth of Santa.
“I wanted to let [my kids] know, ‘Listen, your parents go out, we work hard for you guys to be able to get the things that y’all have and stuff just don’t come out of the chimney,'” the celebrity father concluded.
