WILL SMITH STAGES HEALTH INTERVENTION FOR HIS FAMILY ON ‘RED TABLE TALK’

"I Love Food"

Will Smith staged a health intervention for his family during the latest episode of Red Table Talk. The celebrity father decided to call an emergency meeting for Jada, Willow, Trey, Jaden, and Adrienne Banfield-Jones after a weightloss transformation caused him to view things differently.

Will’s weight gain happened a few months back while the family was vacationing with their personal chef. “I would wake up in the morning … and I would have like four muffins,” Will admitted at the Red Table. “Then for lunch, I would have like, a Moscow mule. That was pretty much my routine for the 10 days.”

Four muffins in the morning followed by a big lunch every day for 10 days came with consequences. “I had gotten up to 225 lbs., and it was the most I had ever weighed in my adult life,” Will shared. “I got to 223 on [the movie] Ali, and I got to 225 on the muffin boat. I don’t want to be a pudge muffin to (sic) my family.”

Will’s experience with weight was the exact opposite of what his son, Jaden, encountered a few months back. The young adult was intent on going vegan when his parents realized something was wrong.

“Will and I had a bit of an intervention with Jaden because he’s a vegan now, but we realized he wasn’t getting enough protein,” Jada shared. “So he was wasting away. He just looked drained, he was just depleted, he wasn’t getting the nutrients.” Will also chimed in on the conversation by revealing that Jaden “had the dark circles under his eyes, there was even a little grayness to his skin.”

Jaden Smith changed his diet to the degree of embracing life as a vegetarian. “I have tried to eat vegan meals,” he shared. “I’ll go vegan for a week or so but for the past year I’ve been vegetarian.”

This week’s Red Table Talk was particularly insightful because Will Smith admitted that he, like many, does not fully understand how food affects the body. “I eat food like an addict,” Will admitted during the talk. “I love food. But I realize my relationship with food was that I eat for fun. I eat for joy.”

Jaden Smith presently owns Just Water company, which spreads charity and awareness about the wonders of water. Will the Smiths venture further into the nutrition field in the coming months? We will have to keep watching the famous family to find out!
