RHOA star Eva Marcille recently shared the process of changing her daughter’s last name during a recent segment on The Rickey Smiley Show. Now, Kevin McCall is responding to the news of his daughter Marley Rae McCall’s last name legally being changed to Sterling, which is the last name of Michael Sterling, Eva’s husband.
Kevin shared a photo on Instagram that showed proof of his completion of a 12-week course about fatherhood given by the My Child Says Daddy Parenting Organization. Kevin added to the picture with the caption, “What’s understood ain’t gotta be explained.”
Eva Marcille delved into the lengthy process of changing her daughter’s last name from McCall to Sterling during her latest segment on The Rickey Smiley Show. The RHOA star even explained why she saw the need to take such a measure.

“Marley was born in 2014, and I gave her biological father’s [last] name [at birth],” Eva shared with her listeners. “After two months, we became estranged and I raised [Marley] as a single mom,” she added. “And then, the Good Lord saw fit for me to meet an amazing man, Michael Sterling, who has become my husband and the father of my later children. And so, long story short, we all have the name Sterling. Marley’s the only one with her biological father’s [last] name. I saw it necessary, and Mike saw it necessary, to change her name.”
Eva celebrated a judge signing off on the name change. Kevin, however, claims that he has spent $7,000 on a lawyer to make sure that Marley’s last name is returned to McCall.
