“It feels great,” Genesis said when asked about her feelings for the night. “I’m nervous. I’m excited,” she added. “All at the same time. And I just really can’t wait to see the movie.”

Viola Davis expressed excitement over her daughter’s venture into the film industry. “I’m so proud,” the veteran actress shared. “I don’t know if she wants to be an actress,” Davis admitted.

“The last time I checked, she wanted to be a Navy SEAL. I was really, really happy about that because I wanted her to be able to handle herself if you know what I mean.”

She may not be certain of the career path that her daughter will choose in the coming years. Viola, however, is intent on giving Genesis sound advice that she can use in whatever field she chooses. “No matter what people say, you should keep going,” Genesis said when asked about the advice her mom often provides.

Genesis Tennon stars alongside Tiffany Haddish, Josh Gad, Leslie Jones, and other Hollywood stars in The Angry Birds Movie 2. Catch the film in theaters this Friday!
