Former NBA great Shaquille O’Neal and son Shareef O’Neal attended the 19th annual Harold and Carole Pump Foundation Gala at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on August 09, 2019 in Beverly Hills, California.
The Harold & Carole Pump Foundation (H&CPF), which was started by college basketball power brokers, Dana and David Pump, has raised millions for cancer research over the years, and this year’s bash was no different.
Shaq recently held his own non-profit event through his charitable initiative, Shaq-to-School. The back to school drive provided over 2,000 shoes and other school supplies to those in need.
“The fact that we can get shoes, backpacks, and stuff to kids who need them and put a smile on their face. That’s what it’s all about,” said O’Neal.
“Education is an important foundation for success,” added O’Neal. “Our goal is to help get kids the supplies they need so they can concentrate on their studies. Thanks to the support of my partners at Zappos and Amazon, I’m excited to reach even more kids this year through our Shaq-to-School program.”
