Djimon Hounsou really wants to see his son, Kenzo Hounsou, whom he shares with Kimora Lee Simmons. The celebrity father has allegedly filed court documents for joint custody of his and his ex-girlfriend’s son.
According to TMZ,
“Djimon Hounsou and Kimora Lee Simmons are now locked in a bitter custody fight, and he’s made the latest move by asking a judge for joint custody, and her side says he’s threatened to move their 10-year-old to Africa.”
It was back in June that Djimon told the press that he had not seen his son in months. Even Father’s Day was not an occasion deemed worthy of father-son time, according to Djimon. “It would have been nice to see my son for Father’s Day,” the celebrity father told the press. “It would have also been nice to have seen him so I could at least talk to him,” Hounsou added.
Kimora Lee Simmons’ camp fired back at Djimon’s comments by telling the media that the fashion mogul has an open-door policy when it comes to the fathers of her kids. Djimon, according to the inside source, never takes his ex-girlfriend up on her offers for visitation.
Social media is quite torn over the latest custody battle between Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou. Some believe the celebrity father, while others express doubts regarding the matter.
“I’m pretty sure you can see him anytime you want,” one Instagram fan reasoned. “@kimoraleesimmons is not the type of mom to keep her kids from their dad,” the critic added. “You’ve always been intimidated by her success and money. Plus she’s not the type of woman you can control which is why the relationship probably didn’t work.”
The opinionated fan went on to tell Djimon, “Now you want to have joint custody and have her pay child support. If you take him from his siblings he will grow up hating you. Why not do like most parents and get him when he’s out of school for a week or the entire summer? @djimon_hounsou you have to do better as a father and co-parent.”
