Erykah Badu and producer The D.O.C’s daughter, Puma Sabti Curry, turned 15 years old on Friday, and Badu couldn’t help but send a sweet message to her teenager on her special day.
“Happy born day PuMaat Emme Ya (Puma).. you are growing. Such a transparent spirit. We see you clearly,” the singer wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of Puma in an inflatable bubble tent.
“Enjoy your new bubble apt. – love mama and baba @c.d.o.c. The tribe is proud. Ancestors sing. #15 summers of earth life,” Badu added. The songstress later uploaded a video of her and Puma’s dad to IgTv. In the video, the co-parents explain what took place during Puma’s birth.
The D.O.C also took to his Instagram to send his daughter well wishes and to share a video of her when she was just a tiny ballerina. He captioned, “You’re growing into a beautiful person but no matter what I only see this. Happy 15th baby . I love you.”
Puma Sabti Curry is indeed growing into a beautiful, young woman. Much like her mother, Puma is vocally talented. Just recently, the teenager showed off her vocal skills at a school talent show.
In a video uploaded by her parents, the then 14-year-old is seen on stage singing “One Night Only,” which is a song from the Broadway musical Dreamgirls. The D.O.C shared with his followers that his daughter was performing at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. So it looks like Puma is definitely honing her skills to become a great performer like her mama!
Puma is one of Badu’s three kids—there’s older brother Seven and younger sister, Mars.
