Wendy Williams and soon-to-be ex-husband Kevin Hunter were not present in court when their son, Kevin Hunter Jr., faced arraignment for assault charges. The session took place in New Jersey on Tuesday (June 25) morning.

According to TMZ,
“Kevin Jr. showed up in court and there was a change of plans, because neither of his parents showed up. He entered a not guilty plea … and the prosecutor asked for more time so he’d have more time to review the case.
The prosecutor said he wanted to ‘review factors in the case’ and said he thought the case would be resolved at the next hearing. That screams plea bargain or outright dismissal of charges. As you know, Kevin Sr. has said he did not want to press charges.”
Kevin Hunter Jr. was arrested on assault charges last month after tensions allegedly reached an all-time high in a New Jersey parking lot. Some believe that little Kevin stepped in to defend his mother and, thus, hit his father as things continued to get heated.

Other sources, however, say that the argument was between the celebrity father and his son. Big Kevin reportedly told little Kevin that he needed to find his way in the world sans his mother’s influence and money. Such admonishment did not sit well with young Kevin given the scandal currently surrounding his father.
Wendy Williams filed for divorce from Kevin Hunter Sr. several weeks ago after his mistress, Sharina Hudson, gave birth to a child that many speculated belonged to Kevin. Wendy confirmed that her estranged husband did indeed father a child outside of their marriage when speaking with media the other week.

“My husband had a full baby with a woman he was involved with for 15 years,” Wendy revealed. “[I was in a relationship] where I was cooped up only to be a show pony,” she added. “Now, I’m living my life,” Williams concluded.
Kevin Hunter Sr. did not press charges against his son for the alleged assault last month. Due to the nature of the incident, however, the state brought up charges against young Kevin for domestic violence. Stay tuned for more Wendy Williams news!
