Tanisha Foster is speaking out about the child custody battle surrounding her daughter, Emani Asghedom. The mother took to Instagram on Tuesday (May 28) to clear the air of rumors regarding her ability to care for her daughter as well as her relationship with Lauren London after Nipsey Hussle’s sister, Samantha Smith, gained the victory in court.

“Thank you, I’m going to stay strong,” Tanisha said to her supporters. “I have to stay strong because I have babies,” she added. “I’m going to live my life,” Tanisha declared. “It was 16 years. He was 16 years of my life. Do anybody know that,” she asked.

Both Tanisha Foster and Nipsey Hussle were 16-years-old when they met. Nipsey and Tanisha welcomed a daughter several years later but eventually grew apart and parted ways. Tanisha, however, maintained the last name of “Hussle” on her social media accounts. Some deemed such a display as disrespectful to Lauren London in later years as she was Nipsey Hussle’s long-time girlfriend who many in the Crenshaw District of Los Angeles believed was his wife.

“I don’t prove nothing to nobody,” Tanisha said on Tuesday. “I don’t have to,” she added. “My child’s father didn’t disrespect me,” Foster continued. “I talked to him 30 minutes before he died. How about those apples? Do y’all know that?”

As for Lauren London, Tanisha told her Instagram fans that she and Nipsey Hussle’s girlfriend were not at odds with one another. “I don’t have a problem with Lauren. She don’t have a problem with me,” Tanisha said. “We good.”

Nipsey Hussle was murdered outside of his clothing store, Marathon Clothing, on March 31, 2019. He had full custody of Emani at the time of his death. A judge ruled last month that Samantha Smith would retain custody of Emani, which meant that Tanisha’s request for custody and financial support was denied.
