Big Boi’s son, Cross “The Boss” Patton, graduated from high school this past weekend to the excitement, of family members, friends, and Outkast. Yes! You read the last part of that sentence correctly. Outkast reunited for the graduation ceremony of Big Boi’s son.
Cross got more than he expected on his big day. Not only did the teen get lots of love from his dad and Andre 3000, but Cross was also handed the keys to a new Tesla. The teen was nearly brought to tears as he looked at the luxury car that was all his own. “Hey man. It used to be car keys. Now, it’s just a keycard,” Big Boi told Cross before handing his son the keys. “That’s you, man,” the celebrity father shared.
Cross has worked hard and is well-deserving of all of his graduation gifts. The teen committed to the University of Oregon a few months ago after receiving an athletic scholarship to attend the school. “Congrats Son,” Big Boi wrote this past weekend. “Oregon, here we come,” the star dad exclaimed.
Many fans gave Cross congratulatory remarks and well wishes online. Still, there was the thing of Outkast reuniting that the masses could not ignore. “After I die, in my grave, I’ll still be waiting on another OutKast album. And I’m cool with that,” one diehard fan wrote online. “It’s always good to see you two together,” another Outkast fan shared. “Love what comes from the collaboration!”
Could the music industry get another collaboration from Andre 3000 and Big Boi in the coming years? Maybe so. Big Boi recently revealed that he would be open to another Outkast album.
“I’ve always said, whenever ‘Dre is ready, I’m always ready,” Big Boi said. “Right now, he’s focusing on different things, and we respect that as a brotherhood,” the recording artist shared. “We text each other every other day. That’s my brother. We’ve done everything there is to do in music. We won the highest prize, we sold the most records. We started when we were 17 years old — let the man breathe a little bit.”
