Chrissy Teigen is thankful to her husband, John Legend, and many others for helping her overcome her struggles with postpartum depression. The celebrity mom tells the media that her husband was her strength in weak times.
“Since it happened with Luna, it happened with my first one, I just didn’t know that there was any other way to feel,” Chrissy shares. “I thought it was very natural to be in this low, low point and I just assumed that was motherhood and there was no other way around it,” she adds.
Teigen goes on to explain that postpartum depression was about more than sadness for her. “I had really changed,” she shares. “It wasn’t just being tired, it was being really, really sad and hard on yourself and really down on yourself.”
Thankfully, the celebrity mom had her husband and other family friends to help her through the struggles. Chrissy had a better understanding of postpartum depression by the time her second pregnancy came around.
“It was more like, ‘OK if it does happen, like I understand it now,'” she says. “Even in the future with any other babies that come along.” Will more babies come along in the near future, Chrissy? “No, not now,” she muses.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are the proud parents of a son named Miles and a daughter named Luna. The couple’s daughter celebrated her third birthday last month.
“Three is just such a dream,” Chrissy shares. “I just love doing, like, watching a movie with her, hearing the words she has to say, the weird sentences that come out of her mouth,” she adds. “We’re like, ‘Where did you get that?’ It’s so much fun. It’s a surprise every day.”
