Beyonce shows viewers how to juggle work with marriage and kids in her latest documentary, Beyonce: Homecoming. Sir, Rumi, and Blue Ivy Carter were huge contributors to Bey’s Coachella success.
The Carter kids did not make a special appearance onstage during the performance. The little ones did, however, give their mom the confidence she needed to make her show a significant moment in time.
It took eight months to build what Coachella attendees loved last year. Bey did not take her responsibility as the first African-American to headline the event lightly. She, instead, made certain that all of her moves were right and that her team was confident in what they were doing. Even Blue got in on the action during one of the rehearsals. The youngster whipped her hair while mimicking her mom’s dance moves in one session.
Coachella 2018 was all about Black Excellence for Bey. Such is the reason why she hand-picked the orchestra, dancers, and drumline who were nothing short of the best in their craft. In fact, the superstar gave a major nod to HBCUs by selecting a drumline with some university students who attended Bethune-Cookman University. Others who made up the stellar band came from schools such as Florida A&M University, Tennesse State University, Alabama State University, Prairie View A&M University.
Excellence did not come without a few challenges, though. One major obstacle that viewers see Bey deal with in her documentary is that of post-pregnancy. Bey is happy about her family’s expansion via the arrival of twins Rumi and Sir. The celebrity mom, however, admits in the documentary that her performance may not be possible with the additional weight. Does the celebrity mom give up and settle for mediocre? Of course not! Bey gives up carbs and everything else that hinders her quest to shed the pounds. Still, even with all of the extra effort, weight loss is a very slow process for the superstar.
Clearly, Beyonce was able to pull it all together for her historic Coachella performance. She was also capable of, once again, exceeding her fans’ expectations by releasing a surprise album to accompany her Homecoming documentary. Check out Homecoming, the album, on Tidal today.
