While making sure that their A-game was on top, holding down two jobs each, and completing 70-hours of community service, identical twins Deontae and Deontrae Wright have made history at Scott High School as they will graduate as valedictorian and salutatorian, and of course, their scholarly accolades didn’t come without a little friendly sibling rivalry.
“We both like to compete against each other,” Deontrae told WTVG. “We want to score higher than each other.”
At the end of the day, they were mere points away from each other when final grades were calculated and came in. Deonte, the first-born twin, scored the valedictorian slot with a GPA of 4.5, while “little brother” Deontrae was named salutatorian with a GPA or 4.4.
So, where are these two headed to college? The 17-year-old brothers will attend Ohio State University on full scholarships. Both plan on studying electrical engineering, with hopes of opening their own engineering firm one day.
Congratulations, Deontae and Deontrae! We have a feeling that we will be hearing more about these two for many more years to come.
