Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga headed to court to work out child support issues earlier this week, according to recent news reports.
“I want to get this done,” Judge Karen Bowes reportedly said on Monday after spending hours trying to work with Jennifer and David to find a child support and custody plan that works best for the family. The celebrity parents have worked together sans significant court intervention to make decisions regarding their 9-year-old son, David Otunga Jr., since ending their relationship in 2017. There were initial reports that Jennifer Hudson had voluntarily given her ex-fiance primary custody of their son. Such claims, however, were quickly refuted by David Otunga’s camp.
Jennifer Hudson has been quite busy as a judge on The Voice. The singer is also slated to portray the late Aretha Franklin in a biopic that is expected to debut in August 2010. David Otunga has been bust in the entertainment sector as well. The celebrity father stars in the new Tyler Perry movie, A Madea Family Funeral.
Jennifer told media that her and David’s son appears to be headed towards a career in entertainment. “He’s such a little performer,” Hudson said of little David in 2017. “He sings, [and] he dances,” the celebrity mom gushed. “We’re curious to see [what he does] because he’s exposed to so much. I feel like that I’m taking the position, as my mother did with us, of, ‘Whatever makes you happy, if you want to sing, sing, and if you want to dance, dance.”
David Otunga and Jennifer Hudson were engaged for nearly ten years before ending their relationship in 2017. Stay tuned for more child custody and celebrity child support updates!
