Reginae Carter is being slammed for kissing her baby sister, Reign Rushing, on the lips. That’s right! An innocent kiss is causing a bit of raucous on social media.
On Monday, both Reginae and her mom Toya Wright took to their Instagram pages to post family photos from their weekend. In the photos, Reginae, Toya, and Reign can be seen hanging out on the balcony of their home in Atlanta.
In another photo, Reginae is seen kissing baby Reign on the mouth. This photo in particular did not sit well with fans who were concerned that Reginae could transfer bacteria to her little sister.
One follower wrote: “…I come from a strict family. Babies can get script throat, hands, nose and throat disease. You’re right. I don’t think it’s a good idea for either one of them those to be kissing that baby in the mouth…ain’t no telling where her mouth has been.”
Another said: “In the mouth though? Introducing all that bacteria to that baby.”
One follower, however, was quick to defend Nae Nae.
“For everyone that says she shouldn’t be kissing the baby in the mouth 1: It’s not tongue kiss and 2: I guess y’all don’t wash y’all mouth. Come on. Y’all always finding something to talk about smh.”
While it hasn’t been proven that kissing a toddler can be harmful, it is important to bare in mind that newborns are especially vulnerable because they have a new immune system. According to experts, the main reason why you may not want to kiss your baby on the mouth is that germs such as the herpes virus could be passed to the unsuspecting child.
