R. Kelly blames his ex-wife Andrea Kelly for his child support woes. In addition, the singer says that Andrea has destroyed his name and made it difficult for him to work.
“How can I pay child support? How? If my ex-wife is destroying my name and I can’t work? How can I work? How can I get paid? How can I take care of my kids? How?” Kelly said in an interview that aired Thursday on “CBS This Morning.”
He added, “My kids is listening to this … all this nonsense and I haven’t even able to spend time with them! What kind of woman would tear down a dad who is trying to have a relationship with their kids?”
The music star also says his ex-wife was lying when she accused him of abusing her. Kelly, who says he has ‘zero’ relationship with his three kids, was jailed on Wednesday for failing to pay his ex-wife more than $161,000 in back child support. The embattled singer is also facing sexual abuse charges in Chicago from decades of allegations that he violated underage girls and women and held them captive in his home.
