Tyra Banks is planning to open a theme park called Modelland, according to several news reports. The amusement park will likely be based on the celebrity mom’s Young Adult (YA) book, Modelland.
According to Entertainment Weekly,
“[Modelland is] reportedly going to be a multi-level 21,000 sq. ft space in Santa Monica Place (an open-air shopping center) that will feature retail shops, dining destinations, interactive entertainment and much, much more.”
Tyra has reportedly been working on her theme park project for the past ten years. “I’ve always been insanely inspired by attractions like Disneyland and Universal Studios and have wanted to bring that spirit of adventure and storytelling to the world of modeling,” Tyra said during a recent interview with Variety. “I’m talking about modeling for the masses,” she said of her broad consumer scope.
Fans can definitely expect Modelland to be something for the whole family to enjoy. Tyra Banks is, after all, a mom herself.
“My son is rolling and running around,” the model said of her son, York Banks Asla, last year. “He calls himself a big brother,” she added. “I’m like, ‘There’s nobody underneath you — what does that mean ‘big brother?'”
How often will fans see Tyra Banks and her son, York, at Modelland? We’ll have to wait until the theme park opens later this year to find out!
