It’s her time to shine and some people have a problem with the brightness. Gabrielle Union is under scrutiny again after sharing a video post in which she kisses her daughter, Kaavia James Union Wade, on the lips.
The video clip is absolutely adorable. Music plays in the background as Gabrielle holds her precious little one while showering her with affection. “Kissing game,” Union told her Instagram fans. “She’s got my love on a string.”
Many fans were overcome with joy as they watched Gabrielle kiss her daughter. “So beautiful,” one social media follower said. Gabby and Kaavia’s video post received more than one million nods in less than twelve hours. Now, how’s that for popularity?
Still, even with all of the positive vibes, there were still those who had a problem with the footage. Centrally speaking, critics deemed it necessary to tell Gabrielle that it was not the best hygiene to kiss a newborn baby on the lips. Union, of course, responded by telling the mommy shamers that she had Kaavia’s well-being at the forefront of all things.
“I appreciate all the concern about kisses on the mouth and labored breathing,” Gabrielle Union began with her response. “I am blessed enough to have a nurse here with us while at work. Kaav is healthy and I don’t even touch her without washing and sanitizing myself and everything and everyone that comes into contact with her.”
Gabrielle Union even had Kaavia’s first visit with Oprah Winfrey under the microscope. “All of Oprah’s crew got whooping cough vaccinations and current on all vaccinations to be in our home,” the celebrity mom told her social media fans. “If you think I waited this long and went thru all this to put my baby in harm’s way… you got another thing coming,” she concluded.
Kaavia James Union Wade is Gabrielle Union and her husband Dwyane Wade’s only child. The couple parents four kids in all.
