Matt Barnes has primary custody of his kids with ex-wife Gloria Govan, but now he wants a reduction in child support as well! According to documents obtained by The Blast:
The ex-NBA star says since he is now retired from professional basketball, his income is not what it was when the child support obligation was originally decided.
Barnes said he now makes around $150,000, and after using the court’s child support algorithm, believes he should only be paying $2,798 per child, per month. That equates to a total annual payment of $67,148 to Govan for the boys.
He’s asking that the court grant his request, and allow the smaller payments. Govan has not yet responded to Barnes’ request, but no doubt she will fight the reduction.
Barnes won sole legal and physical custody of his sons, Carter and Isaiah, against Govan on Nov. 8. He is expecting his third child, a baby boy, with model Anansa Sims.
