It’s not even two weeks into Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s life as parents of a sweet baby girl, and the trolls have already started to mom-shame the actress. The central “concerns” of the critics revolves around Gabby allegedly failing to practice good hygiene as well as her physical appearance, which some say make her appear to have given birth instead of the surrogate she and Dwyane Wade selected to carry their little one for nine months.
Why is “Gabrielle Union” in a hospital bed and robe like she gave birth?😂😂😂 #GabrielleUnion #surrogate pic.twitter.com/r13tLwgGpL

Just for recapping purposes, Gabrielle Union shared a picture of herself while holding her and Dwyane Wade’s newborn daughter. The caption, which was meant to shed light on the family’s expansion, that Gabrielle placed underneath the photo read: “So perhaps I haven’t showered, or brushed my teeth, or slept, but I’m in heaven. I stink, but I’m happy.” Of course, critics missed the keyword, “perhaps” and, thus, unleashed fire on what they believed was nothing short of bad hygiene.
“Why wouldn’t you shower,” one critic asked. “You didn’t deliver the baby,” the scrutinizer added. “Wash yo a**.” Another critic of Gabrielle’s agreed with the mood of a shower being essential by writing, “Go shower with yo stanky old a**.” Why so much hate, friends?

Thankfully, the criticism that came Gabrielle Union’s way wasn’t a mood. Several social media users came to the new mom’s defense. “So what,” one fan asked. “That has nothing to do with how being up taking care of a newborn like that sometimes take precedence over other things that we do. I’m sure she showered; it was just a metaphor statement. Again, the word, “perhaps” is important.
