THE DISNEY CHANNEL’S ‘JUST ROLL WITH IT’ SERIES SEEKS TO REWRITE THE SCRIPT

"A True Step In The Evolution Of Comedic Storytelling"

Disney invites you to let the good times roll and embrace the art of improvisation this fall season. The network has ordered a new comedic series called Just Roll With It that combines both traditional and modern means of onscreen entertainment.

Just Roll With It revolves around the blended Bennett-Blatt family who must learn the essence of the “give and take” principle if they ever hope to live in harmony with one another. There are highs and low of compromise but, in the end, the Bennett-Blatt group always finds the humor in it all.

What makes Just Roll With It stand out from the competition is the audience interaction. Not only is the show filmed in front of a live audience, but onset viewers get to determine the outcome of some aspects of the show. The show’s actors and actresses must roll with whatever their fans choose, which borders along the lines of Reality TV.

“The multi-camera sitcom format has worked as a staple of TV for decades. So naturally, we aimed to totally upend it,” Jonas Agin vice president of Original Series at Disney Channels, says. “By introducing an element of audience interactivity that subverts the expectations of not only the viewers but also the cast, Just Roll With It is a true step in the evolution of comedic storytelling.”
