CARDI B THANKS BABY KULTURE AT AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS, TALKS MOTHERHOOD WITH ‘W’ MAGAZINE

"I Really Want To Thank My Daughter"

Cardi B was present in all of her fashion and musical glory at the 2010 American Music Awards (AMAs). The rapper represented her Latin ancestry with a beautiful and colorful outfit with matching headwear. Then, Cardi B thanked her daughter, Kulture, after receiving the award for Favorite Rap Artist.

“Oh my gosh, I feel nervous. Why am I so nervous,” Cardi asked after being called to the stage to receive her award. “Thank you so much. Thank you to all my fans, thank you to my team thank you to my publicist, thank you to [label] Atlantic … thank you to my glam squad, thank you family, thank you Jesus!”

Cardi then placed the focus on her family during her acceptance speech. “I really want to thank my daughter,” the rapper said. “I was so influenced when I was pregnant with her to be like, I gotta do this; I gotta show people wrong, prove people wrong — because they said I wasn’t gonna make it after I had a baby.” The naysayers were definitely wrong.

Although Cardi B has taken time off to bond with baby Kulture, she by no means has lost stamina. Fans are still listening to ‘Bodak Yellow’ and ‘I Like It’ all while patiently waiting for the rapper to return to the scene with new music.

“People don’t really talk about what you go through after pregnancy,” Cardi recently said of her post-pregnancy experience during an interview with W magazine. “They don’t tell you that you get stitches down there or that your first two weeks you’re constipated. Or that you get contractions because of breastfeeding. I wasn’t expecting that. When Kulture was born, I felt like I was a kid again; everything was making me cry, and I needed a lot of love.”

Even though she is beyond the point of full-on sensitivity, Cardi still admits that she has a few soft spots in her heart that may not be ready to collide with the cruel world. “I feel better now, but sometimes I just feel so vulnerable, like I’m not ready for the world yet,” she explained. “It’s weird.”

Kulture is Cardi B and husband Offset’s first child together. Stay tuned for more celebrity baby news!
