The latest episode of Iyanla: Fix My Life was insightful, to say the least. The counselor attempted to tackle the issues that plagued the relationship of Basketball Wives couple Brandi and James Maxiell, and some major hidden secrets were revealed.
Fans of the couple knew that infidelity was an issue. The depth of unfaithfulness, however, stretched to Jason having an affair with at least 50 women. “It’s more than 50,” Jason told Iyanla when asked about how many women he slept with during his marriage to Brandi.
Mrs. Maxiell also had a few hidden secrets as she admitted to Iyanla that she did not trust Jason to be alone with their son, Jason Maxiell II, because of the lying and drinking.

“He has a problem that he needs to fix,” Brandi revealed. “I know the good in my husband, and the goodness in him,” she continued. “I know that he can push through as long as he wants to.”
Still, even with her knowing the goodness in him, Brandi refused to let Jason take their son to see his great-grandfather without her being present. “I never said he couldn’t go see his grandfather,” Mrs. Maxiell countered after being accused of keeping her husband away from his granddad.

“What I said to him was, ‘You can go see your grandfather. But our child, while I’m not there, cannot go.’ I am very protective over my child. I do not want my child to be around a drunk.” Brandi eventually admitted, “I don’t trust that my son is safe with his father.”

Iyanla did not badger Brandi Maxiell for not trusting their son to be alone with his father. She, instead, told the celebrity mom that she could not truly help her husband without believing in him. “You can’t help him until you trust him,” Vanzant said.
