A vacation in Cabo to celebrate your fortieth birthday? Yes, please! Kobe Bryant and the family are ringing in his birthday in a big way.
“Surprise family trip to Cabo for my bday,” Kobe told his Instagram fans. The star father shared another picture of his wife and daughter with the caption, “My Babies” underneath.
Kobe Bryant debuted his podcast, The Punies, right before heading out for his birthday trip to Cabo. The Punies is the first podcast to focus on youth sports.
“Having spent my whole life playing basketball, there were many times I wasn’t on the winning team,” Kobe told the media prior to his podcast’s debut. “However, those experiences ultimately proved the most valuable because they taught me perseverance, determination, and teamwork,” Kobe explained. “As the father of athletes myself, I created The Punies so that these stories will not only entertain the whole family but inspire young listeners to reach their full potential.”

Kobe Bryant recently shared his philosophy on the matter with PEOPLE. “Anything that we can conjure up in our own mind is going to be way worse than the reality of the situation — and the important thing is keeping your mind quiet,” he explained. “If you give your imagination the power of negative self-talk, that can be extremely detrimental,” Kobe shared.
