How would you feel if your 2-year-old outsmarted you every time? Thomas Rhett is dealing with the cool reality of having a daughter like that. Willa Gray is budding to be quite the intellectual according to her father.
“Willa Gray is having full-on conversations with me,” Thomas reveals to PEOPLE. “She’s smarter than I am,” he continued. “It’s only going to continue to get worse, but it’s been such a life-changing experience in all the best ways possible.”
Thomas and his wife, Lauren, welcomed their second child, Ada, just months after finalizing their adoption of Willa Gray. Adjusting to the life changes was definitely something that all members of the family had to undergo, but things cannot be better in the Rhett household.
“Before you become a dad, you talk to other dads and moms and everybody is like, ‘Dude, soak it in because it’s going to go fast,'” Thomas shares. “Somebody told me this quote: ‘The days are long and the years are short.’ I don’t think you fully understand what that means until you have kids.”
Thomas goes on to gush about his happy bunch in saying, “I never thought that I could love anything more than my wife — not that I love my kids more than my wife — it’s an equal love, but it’s just a different kind of love. It’s been such a crazy last couple of years.”
