Harper’s Bazaar has the musical greats of this generation along with their kids in one issue. Kanye West, Erykah Badu, and Mariah Carey join other big names in the music industry to make up the iconic spread.
Harper’s calls its upcoming issue, “ICONS: The First Families of Music,” and for good reason. Kanye West is definitely a name that keeps coming up in the news. “I hope my children never lose their confidence to society,” he says of his desires for North, Saint, and Chicago as they grow older. The celebrity father also took a few pictures with North and Saint with one featuring the rapper standing with North on his shoulders and Saint by his side.
Erykah Badu is also featured in the special “ICONS” issue. She tells Harper’s that her focus as a mom is on nurturing the talents of her kids. “I want my children to use their gifts in order to do service for others,” she shares. “That is, to make sure that their gifts are serving something bigger than themselves. And to do what I say.”
What would be a discussion about mainstream celebrities without the one and only Mariah Carey? The singer shares her thoughts on parenting in Harper’s Bazaar.
“Family is the most important thing to me,” Mariah says. “My children have provided me with such joy as they’ve developed their own unique personalities.”
