LeToya Luckett is happy beyond explanation. The singer is a newlywed who is expecting her first child with husband Tommicus Walker.
“I am excited,” LeToya tells ESSENCE. “I cannot explain the joy.” LeToya shares with media.
The joy of having a family of her own seemed like a fantasy just a few months ago. LeToya was healing from a previous failed relationship and certainly wasn’t preparing to enter into another emotionally-giving situation. The singer shared her perspective of gratitude with her girlfriend before learning of Tommicus’ availability.
“I was weirded out at first,” Luckett admits. “I was like, ‘I don’t do weird, blind dates.'” There were no weird dates but a lot of connection over the telephone. LeToya and Tommicus talked over the phone for several weeks without actually meeting each other. Upon finally coming into contact with one another, she and he knew that they had found something real.
Now, LeToya and Tommicus are married and awaiting the arrival of their first child. LeToya is definitely getting a head start on parenting from her bonus daughter, Madison.
“I call Madison my ‘daughter in love’ and I’m her ‘mommy in love,'” Luckett revealed. “She’s a sweetheart and she’s very vocal about her feelings,” the expectant star explained. “We talk about everything, and he allows me the space,” LeToya said of her blended family. “And that’s the thing I love about my husband.”
Even with her role as a stepmom, LeToya Luckett admitted that she is still a bit nervous about the impending birth of her and Tommicus’ first child together. “I’m terrified because it’s my first,” she shared.
