In the wake of the cancellation of Roseanne Bar’s revival show, as a result of her racist tweet, the young and talented Jayden Rey is set to star in a new spinoff, slated to premiere this fall.
The 10-episode spinoff will follow the Conner family, minus Barr, as they “continue to deal with contemporary issues that are as relevant today as they were 30 years ago,” commented ABC in an interview with denverpost.com.
Barr tweeted, in regard to Jayden Rey, the only African American on the show, portraying Barr’s granddaughter, “I think I’ll b better tomorrow. The saddest part of all is 4 Jayden Rey on the show whom I grew2 love so much & am so ashamed of myself that she would ever think I do not love her bc she is African American. It’s the most gawd awful painful thing. I can’t let myself cave in tho.”
Roseanne was Rey’s first big break on the small screen, yet the young rising star has been in the spotlight since she was 2-years-old, singing, dancing, and booking commercials for brands like Dannon, Kohl’s, Nick Jr., Sprout, Farm Rich, ESPN, and Toys ‘R’ Us.
We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this young starlet. Despite the fact that things got off to a bit of a bumpy start, we know that the sky is the limit for this little cutie with the incredible smile.
