Kim Kardashian is not in the business of rearing spoiled kids. The celebrity mom tells Wealth Simple readers that she and husband Kanye West do not make a habit of buying their kids gifts.
“I worry about giving my kids too much,” Kim admits. “We don’t do gifts,” she reveals. Kim further explains, “They have to really earn it. We talk about it all the time, about not getting too much and just trying to be as grounded and well-rounded as possible.”
Kim gets much of her drive to rear her son and daughters normally, given the circumstances, from her parents. “My parents didn’t give me financial help when I was starting out,” Kim says.
“I got a job when I was 16. It was at a clothing store. I had crashed my car, and before I got another car my dad made me sign a contract that if I hit the car I was responsible for taking care of it. I had no money, so I had to go get a job, pay for it. I grew up so normal.”
Some young couples want to become parents but are afraid of the road that lies ahead. Kim has a bit of advice for those on the fence about family expansion. “You’re never ready,” Kim shares. “I say that to all my friends. Me in my 30s, Kanye was in his 30s, and I’m like, ‘If we’re not ready now… I mean, this is pathetic. So we’re going for it.’ And it just happened.”
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are the proud parents of three children. The couple celebrated their oldest daughter North’s fifth birthday a few weeks ago.
