“Although she has a very quiet and unassuming disposition, Jasmine is the epitome of a ‘go-getter,'” one of the youngster’s teachers told INSIDER. “Last semester, she told me, ‘Ms. Fletcher, my personal goal is to get accepted to 100 colleges.’ I told her to do it and that if she can dream it, she can achieve it.”

Jasmine certainly did achieve it. In fact, she surpassed her goal of 100 schools by 13. “When I got the first couple in the mail, I was like, ‘OK, this is really happening.’ I didn’t really think I’d be able to do that,” the up-and-coming scholar told WFMY. “On those late nights when I was filling out those applications with my mom and we just felt like we cannot do this, we just ended up singing gospel songs together to get through the night.”

Harrison told the New York Times that she was at first overwhelmed by the numerous college choices available. “There were so many options,” she said. “I could go anywhere, and discover who I am.” Jasmine ultimately decided to attend Bennett College in her hometown, which is the same school that her older sister attended.

Great things are in store for Jasmine Harrison. Keep your eyes and ears open for this budding scholar!
