JHENE AIKO AND DAUGHTER TAKE THE STAGE AT ‘DEAR MAMA’ EVENT

Their Duet Was Simple Beautiful

The Dear Mama: A Love Letter To Moms event was held at The Theatre at Ace Hotel this past Thursday. Jhene Aiko and her daughter, Namiko, were definite showstoppers at the event.

The mother-daughter duo took the stage before taking on photographers on the red carpet. Namiko’s beautiful voice radiated the venue as she delivered her part to Jhene’s celebrated ‘Sing to Me’ single. Aiko’s daughter didn’t miss a beat or note as she gently sang the lyrics to the song. Jhene followed up her daughter’s incredible parts in the song with lyrics of her own.

VH1 has, without fail, honored mothers for their dedication to the family with its Dear Mama: A Love Letter To Moms event. This year was even more special as Sean “Diddy” Combs stopped by to bring swagger like only he could bring to the stage.

Jhene and Namiko also brought positive vibes to the place with their mother-daughter bond that was evident. “In 2008 I got pregnant with my daughter,” Aiko said during an interview with VICE in 2016. “She made me feel fearless,” the singer added. “I never doubted that something good would come from it. If anything, it was inspiring and it just game me this extra, extra drive.”

You can see Jhene Aiko in all of her passion to succeed when Dear Mama: A Love Letter To Moms airs on VH1 on May 7, 2018, at 9 PM ET/PT.
