“I just applied, applied, applied,” the teen tells media. “I didn’t know how many it was, so once they started to come through the mail, I was like oh my gosh, this many? Then, they started coming more and more. Now, today, I have 83 now.”
Acceptance into colleges and universities isn’t the only thing that Darrin has in his corner. The teen also has about $3 million in scholarship funds available to him.

Many cannot get beyond the fact that Darrin was accepted into nearly 100 colleges. “Eighty-three colleges? That is wonderful, that is a blessing from God,” the teen’s mother, Bridget, reveals to the press. “I’m very proud, a proud mother to see my son go forward into his success and go forward into his goals.”
Darrin joins about a dozen of his peers at the International High School of New Orleans in being accepted into more than 15 colleges and universities with accommodating scholarships. “I think we got on some of their nerves to be honest with you,” one of the school’s faculty members told media. “But we continued to hammer at them to let them know that the world is yours if you reach out and get it.”

Darrin Francois certainly plans to find his niche and be a changer in society. The teen is presently considering studying the field of law, although he remains undecided with regard to school choices. “Just stay true to yourself,” he advises youth hoping to be accepted into the college or university of their choice. “If you know you’re going to get in, you’re going to get in,” Darrin adds.
