Yara Shahidi gained her claim to fame for her outstanding acting on shows such as Black-ish and most recently, her new Freeform series, Grown-ish.
Well, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the young starlet is headed to the big screen in the new adaptation of Nicola Yoon’s book, “The Sun Is Also A Star.” Shahidi will star as Natasha, a pragmatic NYC girl who finds herself in the middle of a quandary when she is faced with both falling in love and deportation.
Everything, Everything, starring Amandala Stenberg was the first book of Yoon’s to become a big screen hit. Congratulations, Yara! We cannot wait to see you on the big screen!
