Talent runs in this family! Puma Sabti Curry wished her mom a Happy Birthday this past weekend with a soulful rendition of the ‘Happy Birthday’ song that you won’t soon forget.
The 14-year-old daughter of Erykah Badu and West Coast rapper The D.O.C rendered a smooth and heartfelt rendition of the song that many people simply belt out. Puma stood in the midst of thousands in the audience and a group of musicians onstage who cheered her on in her efforts. Erykah Badu was so impressed with her daughter’s delivery that all she could do was stand in front of the teen and receive the heartfelt birthday wish.
“I’m done,” Erykah told her Instagram fans after the experience. “PUMA, PUMA, PUMA. Thank you, PUMA!! I love you. Thanks to all my family for your love and presence,” the singer added.
Dozens of fans appreciated the genuine and raw talent of Erykah Badu’s daughter. “What a beautiful tribute from your sweet girl,” one of Erykah’s followers said. “This makes me cry,” another fan exclaimed. “Big blessings to you and your family queen.”
Puma is one of three children Erykah Badu parents. The celebrity mom recently shared her view on the tumultuous times the world has seen during an interview with Rolling Stone. “I see what’s happening as a rebirthing process, and labor is hard,” she shared. “You don’t know what’s going to happen. You have to wait until you are dilated to 10 before you can give birth. We at about a five right now.”
