So amazing! Yara Shahidi sat down with Oprah Winfrey for the billionaire’s SuperSoul Conversations with Salma Hayek event and it was nothing short of magical.
Oprah gave Yara a few golden nuggets while in talks with the Grown-ish star. The television network owner then told the young star what was shared with her several years back. “Quincy Jones said something to me that I want to say to you,” Oprah said to Yara. “Baby, your future’s so bright it burns my eyes.” Yara was almost overwhelmed with emotion as she held Oprah’s hands and thanked her for the encouragement. We nearly shed a few tears after viewing the interaction.
Yara later took to Instagram to talk about how her entrance into the adult years is coming on a high note. “Today, more than surreal: magical,” Shahidi wrote online this past Wednesday. “Honored to be able to be in the presence of and in conversation with @oprah,” she continued. “Today was a reminder of the power of intergenerational support and I can’t believe I’ll be entering my 18th year on such a high note- surrounded by family, friends I consider family, and inspiration.” We love it!
