Snoop Dogg is doing great things. The celebrity father recently partnered with activist Colin Kaepernick to fund the Mothers Against Police Brutality coalition.
Colin, who has been on a $1 million pledge journey, decided to give $10,000 to the nonprofit that seeks to unite mothers whose children have experienced abuse at the hands of police officers. Snoop Dogg, upon hearing of Colin’s plans, also moved to contribute.
“When I heard about the great works he was doing in the community, I decided to pledge $10,000 to match what he’s doing,” the rapper said in a social media video post. “I love what he’s doing,” Snoop added.
According to the coalition’s website,
“Mothers Against Police Brutality (MAPB) is the new voice for justice for victims of police brutality and deadly force. We are multi-racial, multi-ethnic coalition uniting mothers nationwide to fight for civil rights, police accountability, and policy reform.”
Dozens of citizens are murdered every year due to lack of accountability and training within police departments across the nation. Many families of those killed are, unfortunately, forced to pick up the pieces as a result of what is often a mistake. Mothers Against Police Brutality and coalitions similar to this group seeks to establish a balance between officers and citizens so that both parties involved feel safe.
