We all know that reading is fundamental but four-year-old Caleb Green has put those words to the test, by reading 100 books in a day!
“I like to read and I want to read some more like my sister,” Caleb told WLS-TV. So when the young Ninja Turtle fan told his parents that he wanted to read books on a Saturday, they were a bit skeptical but it really didn’t come as that much of a surprise, but when he told them how many he wanted to read, that was something different.
“I was like, 100, son? That’s a lot of books. So at first I had the gut reaction to talk him down a little bit, but he was like, ‘No, I want to read 100,’” his father, Sylus Green, told the news station, and they did.
The family settled in and began their reading marathon live on Facebook with Green doing a little happy dance every time he finished 10 books.
However, there is more! Just when you thought that the story couldn’t get any better, it does.
In actuality, the family didn’t have enough books in the house to help Green reach his goal, that’s when friends and neighbors happily dropped off extra books so that the young reader could accomplish his goal.
What an inspiration! So, just what does this inspirational young man want to be when he grows up? Well, “I want to be a basketball player. When I am 22 I want to be an astronaut, and when I’m 23 I want to be a Ninja Turtle.”
