Diana Ross was the highlight of the night at the 2017 American Music Awards (AMAs), but it was her grandson, Raif-Henok, who emerged as the family’s next superstar. The youngster shared the spotlight with his famous grandma with incredible dance moves and adorable words.
Diana brought her family onstage as she received the American Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Award this past Sunday. Raif’s mother, Rhonda, delivered a powerful speech in which she talked about her mother serving as a pioneer in the industry.
“Mom, with no apologies and in all of your power – with integrity, grace and generosity – you blazed a way,” Rhonda said to the applause of the ceremony’s attendees. “Not just for us your children, not just for women, not just for black folk, not just for singers and performers, or entrepreneurs who want to control their own destiny, but for all of us. We are so proud to present you with the American Music Award for Lifetime Achievement.”
Raif was equally proud of his grandma and said so. “I’m so proud of you,” he exclaimed over the mic. The youngster then turned to the crowd and, in perfect Diana Ross fashion, said, “I love you all.” Too. Much. Cuteness!

Speaking wasn’t the only way in which Raif stole the show. The youngster showed off fabulous dance moves onstage as Diana belted out the lyrics to her legendary song, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
