“LaVar Ball is bringing in the best private tutors he can find to educate his 16-year-old son LaMelo Ball after pulling him out of high school … TMZ Sports has learned.

We spoke with a rep for the Ball family who tells us LaMelo’s homeschooling program will consist of  ‘private tutors while LaVar trains him (in basketball) for the next two years to get better and stronger.'”

Several media sources reported that LaVar talked of homeschooling his son. ESPN actually got the businessman to affirm his plans during a recent interview. “I’m not dealing with the coach over there,” LaVar said. “I’m not dealing with the administration over there. I don’t want no distractions on Melo. So therefore I’m going to home-school him and make him the best basketball player ever.”

LaMelo does pretty well in school, but Math and English are subjects on which his father places emphasis. “Math and English are his stronger subjects so he can count his money and communicate when it’s not right,” the family’s representative told TMZ Sports.

Many thought that LaMelo would follow in his brothers’ footsteps by attending and playing basketball for UCLA. The teen, however, seems to be leaning more towards the business aspect of things with his new sneaker line that is making history. We’ll just have to wait and see which path Melo chooses in life. LaVar Ball is the proud father of three sons.
